Dr. Andrea Scott, PhD
Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Andrea Scott, PhD is the Dean and an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business at California Baptist University (CBU). Her publications and research interests involve consumer behavior, advertising, social marketing, and investigating the challenges faced at the intersection of conscience, culture, and marketing. She is a Fulbright Scholar having completed a Teaching and Research Grant at the University of Technology in Kingston, Jamaica and is pursuing research projects with the Jamaican Ministry of Health.
Incorporating over a quarter of a century of marketing experience, Dr. Scott has keen interest in and significant engagement with public service agencies as well as nonprofit organizations. A project forthcoming in the Journal of Marketing and Public Policy explores the role of storytelling in effective nonprofit marketing efforts. She has advertising agency experience with national clients such as General Mills and Wrigley at DDB and BBDO in Chicago, worked with NBC during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, was a business analyst for Honeywell, Inc., and started and still owns The Write Touch (marketing consulting firm).
