We all have ideas of how we are "working". However, it is not until we "see" exactly what we are doing and saying that we get a clear picture of we are and are not communicating.
We work with school to set up video observations of classrooms, hallways, assemblies, etc. Reviewing the video footage of a great class or really good interaction with a colleague or student can teach us a lot. However, we have found that we can learn even more from the situations that did not go well, at least not the way we had planned or hope for. It is in the struggle that we can make progress to correct the errors and be better.
